ABOUT US

The BF Group commenced operations in 1988 with the establishment of BF Machinery Pty Ltd by Charles Briffa and George Fergus. The two had recognised that there existed a niche market for a specialised provider in the repair and refurbishment of plastics processing machinery.

The business was quickly extended to include the overhaul and modification of large hydraulic cylinders and components and total refurbishment of machinery including mechanical and hydraulic overhauls and PLC installations.

In 1992 an engineering facility, CBF Engineering Pty Ltd was added to the group utilising the expertise of Ned Courtin to provide in-house general and specialist engineering and machinery work thereby enabling work to be carried out in a consistent, timely and high quality manner.

In 1996 the BF Group erected a special purpose built factory complete with two 10 tonne overhead cranes, 200 amp power supply, fully equipped testing facility for electronic components, an extensive library and a secure spare parts storage area. The factory was extended in early 2005 to satisfy increasing customer requirements.

In 1998 the group acquired the service division of Remtron, making it the largest company in Australia providing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical service support to the plastics industry. We now have a dedicated team of over 25 specialist tradesmen on the road and 12 permanently based in the factory.

Over the years the BF Group has also established itself as an agent for a range of machinery manufacturers. Its portfolio includes Sandretto and Borch injection moulding machines, BM Blow moulding machines, Reifenhauser extrusion lines for blown and cast film, sheet and thermoforming extrusion systems, AFS corona treaters, Sikoplast recycling lines, Kreyenborg screen changes and Kundig control systems.

In 2004 The BF Group established an industrial pumps division promoting Australian made Stalker Pumps. In February 2007 The BF Group was appointed the Australian agent for PX Pumps, who are one of the worlds leading suppliers of pumps to the waste water sector. The BF Group obtained its quality assured status in 1998 (QEC11573) and in 2003 upgraded to the current ISO9001:2000 Quality Management System.
